Matthew Dane is a member of the Boulder Piano Quartet, serves as Principal Violist of the River Oaks Chamber Orchestra in Houston, and is on the faculty at both the Metropolitan State College in Denver and the University of Colorado. Chamber music festival appearances include OK Mozart, Portland (Maine), Chamber Music Quad Cities (Iowa), and Tanglewood. In summers Dane performs in the Colorado Music Festival, and in 2008 will teach at the Texas Music Festival and Rocky Ridge Music Center. His Doctoral Document, which examines the teaching influence of Karen Tuttle, enjoys wide circulation among amateur and professional violists nationwide. Dane is Editor of the Journal of the American Viola Society.
